About ANBU Black Ops

A character named ANBU Black Ops is a fictional character that appears in the manga and anime series Naruto. Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai (or Special Assassination and Tactical Squad in Japanese) is the group’s short name. Their village leader employs these capable ninjas as secret agents. Anbu does not appear to have a rank system. Instead, leadership and team hierarchy seem to be based on the qualifications and experience of the individuals involved. In carrying out their missions, they work in the shadows, hide their identities, and carry out special assignments.

Anbu

Assassination operatives and tactical squads are Anbu (Senjutsu Tokushu Butai, literally: Special Assassination and Tactical Squad), short for Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai, often referred to as Black Ops or Dark Side. The Anbu hierarchy appears to be based more on merit and experience than actual rank. A squad leader is the person in charge of a team and is regarded as one of the highest positions among the squads.

Because of the darkness involved in an Anbu’s career, one’s personality determines their eligibility into the force, making exceptionally skilled shinobi whose personalities do not match the organization rejected because of the dark nature of the Anbu’s career. In the Academy, capable children are already scouted to become shinobi. In contrast, in the recruiting process, shinobi are selected based on their abilities and special skills by their village leader. Anbu selection has nothing to do with age, background, gender, or the previous rank; however, in tradition, Konohagakure shinobi are no longer selected as Anbu before they are 13 years of age, with an 11-year-old Itachi Uchiha being an exception to the rule. To conceal their identities, they wear masks to hide them, which leads to them identifying each other with code names once they have joined.

In 1995, Kishimoto published Karakuri, which earned him an honorable mention in Shueisha’s Hop Step Award the following year, and Naruto (1997).
