Brie Larson plays Captain Marvel in the 2019 film of the same name. While the characters’ backgrounds vary widely between their comic book appearances, Larson’s interpretation is that of Carol Danvers, a veteran fighter pilot whose DNA is mistakenly merged with that of a Kree, an advanced alien species of prolific warriors. Unable to stay human, she joins the Kree military squad Starforce, becoming one of the galaxy’s mightiest fighters.
Returning to Earth, she discovers that her home planet is at war with two alien worlds. Captain Marvel must combine her human side – the part of her that wants to do good – with her great abilities and anger to figure out who she wants to be and, perhaps, preserve Earth.

About Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers was introduced to the Marvel universe as Ms. Marvel before becoming Captain Marvel. Danvers will be the youngest security captain in NASA history after completing the program at 18. She is later taken by the extraterrestrial species Kree, who modify her genetic composition, granting her abilities. Danvers decides to join the Avengers after the tragedy.
The Krees and the Phoenix Force are at odds. Danvers encounters a revived Captain Marvel, who later sacrifices himself to rescue his race just as the Phoenix Force is about to triumph. Carol becomes the new Captain Marvel when everything is settled in his honor.
